...My Experience going under the needle...

10:49

So if you happen to know me or we've gotten in a conversation a couple of time, it's not a secret that I've a flair for piercings and inking (tattoos) but my society doesn't embrace such things. In fact it's a labeled signs of becoming a bad person. I guess it's everywhere but just as Nigerians are extra about most things they're about this too.
So I've been meaning to have my septum pierced for like two years now but I've never had the courage but I've always masked it by asking people who've got theirs how they got it, where and all. I once approached a tattoo shop and ask how much piercing my septum would cost. And for some reasons unknown to me, they gave me a ridiculous price (12,000) and at that point I was like when I'm rich I will come back for this.
But I really want this stuff, so I met this girl at this beach party I organized with some friends and she had hers pierced so I asked her about it and she made it sound all easy and prescribed somewhere I've been directed before. I had mine pierced for (shoulda, shouldn't I )  nah I'm not telling you the price but you can get it for a really cheap (1000-5000) amount depending on how strong your bargaining power is. But I ignored because I know they might not be professionals but I made up my mind I'm going to pay them a visit. Fast forward to last month and I had to go shop for denim Jacket for a friend on a Thursday morning and lucky and unlucky for me we passed  across the recommended place. Pause let me paint the picture for you. This place is a portion of the market designated for people who fix nails, hair and pierce too and it happened that there are over 20 women there doing this, so no one was recommended in particular. Back to the story, so I ask my friend if I should get my piercing today and I was 100% sure he would say yes, he never say No to such things.
After negotiating with her we set off for the process, first of all I've watch over a hundred video of people getting their septum pierced but damn the piercing needle scared me cause it seems big. So our madam pro with no marking nothing nothing went with the needle straight up my septum (I must say, it was painful as hell and at that moment I realized something wasn't right) she had pierced it in a bent way that the other end was almost the middle of my cartilage separating the nostrils. It was so painful I didn't mind that I've paid her that I asked her to just remove it that I'm no longer interested but she pleaded to do it again and of cause my friend said same too. While she was piercing the second time but going through the first hole at the other side I could feel the pin breaking to my cartilage and this time around I was definitely sure something is wrong but it appeared okay so I bid our madam P (I nicknamed her) farewell as I was already having headaches. One of my regrets was that I didn't get the whole experience on tape and the reason was that I didn't set out to go do it, I only went out to get some cloths in the market so I didn't go with my phone.

So two days later I buzzed Christine (she've got one + she've been pushing for mine since I told her my interest in it) so I explained to her how painful it was and all and she said something like "hope she didn't pierced the cartilage oh" at this point I realized this is definitely what she did so I went on YouTube and searched for "wrong septum piercings" and I discovered I've same experience with a lot of people and we've our cartilage pierced instead of the layer behind it by the way when madam P was about about piercing I showed her where to but she talked me out of it that she knows what she's doing and here we are. But it is actually nice apart from the pain in the first two days plus the fact that I can't flip it in(there's a way to flip a septum ring if you don't want people to see it and it will still be there) it really look nice for the appearance.
