STRIPE KIMONO [HELLO SEPTEMBER]

Yo!!!!! We are
here again; isn’t that great?? First of all I want to wish y’all a happy new
month and officially welcome you to the glorious month of September (my month).
I am entering
the last quarter of this year in style with my stripe kimono. The kimono is no longer just a Japanese
traditional wear as it was formally known for. Creative fashion designers and stylists around the
world have explored and re-invented it with dashing styles since it boomed to
the limelight in 2016 and it’s been showcased on top red carpet events and runways all over
the world since then.
Monochromic stripe garments are
considered outstanding and I find this piece quite bold not just because of the
material used but because of the design for men even as kimonos are being
considered feminine in this part of the world #naijaforlife.
This kimono is a custom made piece designed by HODD which I
happen to be the creative director. It’s an armless fitted kimono with double
slits by its sides and it’s accompanied with a short. The outfit is
complimented with a “knotable” belt and this look is styled in a simple “not
too casual” way.
